How do you determine what size I will wear?
When you order a gown, NorasBridalBoutiqueNY staff will take your measurements over just your bra and underwear. This insures snug body measurements. (Measurements should never be taken over clothing.)
When you go to the boutique you will compare your measurements to the designer’s size chart. Each designer/line has its own size chart. NorasBridalBoutiqueNY will make a size recommendation, but the client/bridesmaid is allowed to order any size she chooses. If your measurements fall between sizes it is best to order the larger size as gowns can be taken up but may not have extra fabric to be let out. NorasBridalBoutiqueNY is not responsible for the fitting of your chosen gown/size. In the end you are responsible for choosing the final size.
Bridesmaid gowns are not cut to your measurements, so alterations are generally expected. NorasBridalBoutiqueNY has a recommended list of alterations providers. We do not offer in house alterations. Alterations are not included in the purchase price of a gown.
Do you accept returns?
All sales are final. This final sales policy is consistent with the industry standard for bridal and special occasion apparel.
When and how do we pay for bridesmaids dresses?
Bridesmaids dresses, Custom Made Dresses are to be paid in Full or 50% deposit when ordering, this can be done with credit card or check.
How long should I allow for bridesmaids gowns to arrive after ordering?
Bridesmaids gowns take 3-5 months to arrive after ordering. Rush is available from most designers for an additional charge.
How can I make sure my bridesmaids gowns are the best fit possible?
Make sure your bridesmaids get measured properly. If in question, measure twice.
The most common mistake is that bridesmaids measure too far down for their waist measurement. The waist is measured at the smallest part of the torso, above the belly button - not where you wear your jeans.
Your bust measurement is not the same as your bra size.
Follow the size chart provided by designer. Every bridesmaid's gown designer has its own size chart, and the sizes can vary greatly. You could wear a 6 by one designer and a 10 by another designer.
Do not guess at your size. You can always have a gown taken down but you may not have enough fabric to let a gown out.
Bridesmaids gowns are not cut to personal measurements. You are ordering the closest size to your measurements.
If I order the wrong size bridesmaids gowns will the designer exchange sizes with me?
It is the policy of the bridal industry that there are no exchanges and all sales are final. Bridesmaids gowns are cut just for your order. The gowns are not kept in stock. When NorasBridalBoutiqueNY places your order for your bridesmaids gowns, the gowns are cut from the same dye lot of fabric and in the sizes you requested. Remember, NorasBridalBoutiqueNY staff is not allowed to choose your sizes.
Bust: Measure at the fullest part of your bust with your arms down and relaxed.
Waist: Measure 3" - 4" above your naval, at the smallest part.
Hip: Measure at the widest part.
While bridesmaid dresses are not custom made to your measurements, it is important to be confident in your measurements as each designer's sizing may vary greatly from another. Be sure to match your measurements to the appropriate designer's sizing chart.
Unfortunately, our staff cannot choose a size for any bridesmaid. Please remember that formal attire tends to run smaller than normal "ready to wear" clothing.
How do I order a bridesmaid dress?
To order bridesmaid dresses:
- Choose your bridesmaid dress style.
- Review the signing chart specific to the dress designer.
- Each bridesmaid must fill out a bridesmaid dress order form, completing all the fields requested including:
- Wedding Details
- Bridesmaid Contact Information
- Measurements (Bust, Waist, Hips, Height, Weight)
- Dress Details
- Pricing Details
- Payment Information
- Submit or confirm payment
How can I pay for a bridesmaid dress?
Payment may be made with either credit card, check, cashiers check, or money order.
How will I know that my bridesmaid dress arrived?
When the dresses arrive, you will be notified by your personal sales representative.
Can I have my bridesmaid dresses shipped?
You may choose to have your bridesmaid dresses shipped. Dresses may be shipped to a singular address or multiple. There is a $25.00 charge for each address.
Dresses will only be delivered with signature confirmation - they will not be left at a doorstep.
